It's fun, and a useful exercise to take an idea and shoot in different ways.... agreed? I've done it lots of times with series, using one theme as the hero, but this is differesnt, today I have taken a flatlay featuring these rather scrumptious waffles, and presented it two different ways, mostly just by changing the surface.
They were shot in precisely the same place, within 30 minutes of each other and with the same light. The only other difference is the inclusion of a hand. I did it all in a whim. I had the moodier shot in the bag, was happy with it. I'd even switched off my camera, and then the idea of putting a hand in the shot came to me. I wanted to capture movement, to convey energy - hence that slight blur. Do you like it? I saw the marble surface close by and shifted most of my props on to it. It was a spontaneous move, but actually one that worked like a dream. I wonder which you prefer?
